The Toronto Raptors have been living in an alternate universe because things were not supposed to be like this for them. In 1998, they acquired the draft rights to Vince Carter. Dwyane Wade has an NBA title and Amare Stoudemire is the focal point of a powerhouse team in the Phoenix Suns. This season, the Raptors were very inconsistent, but at one point, they were challenging Boston for the fourth playoff spot.

However, the Raptors could not sustain a mid-season run from the Milwaukee Bucks and the Charlotte Bobcats. Despite losing two spots, it was almost assured that the Raptors would stay ahead of the Miami Heat, who would also leapfrog Toronto, who ended up battling Derrick Rose and the Bulls for the final playoff spot. Even after a 10-game losing streak, the Bulls had enough left to end up securing the final playoff spot in the East. Because of that, Chris Bosh demanded that he have some help placed around him for the upcoming season. Unlike most organizations, the Toronto Raptors only invest in having one star.

The unwillingness of the Toronto Raptors to find help for Chris Bosh has led to his decision to likely leave the team this summer. Bosh does have a list of teams that he would love to join, but a return to Toronto is simply out of the question. Most people point to Bosh teaming up with LeBron James in New York or headed down to Miami to team up with Dwyane Wade. Still, it appears as if Chris Bosh's time in Toronto is over because he has expressed interest in testing the free agent waters.
