With that roster and their first round victory over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks powered Kansas to a 33-2 record. It was widely expected that they would roll all over Northern Iowa on Saturday. However, they did not come out with the intensity that they needed to win. From the beginning, they trailed and by double digits for most of the way. But, in the closing minutes of the game, the Jayhawks rallied and put themselves in a position to win. Despite having a chance to win, the Panthers held them off for the 69-67 victory. All of the expectations and anticipations ended and without a title.
