Being traded from one of the top teams in the NBA to a team as bad as the Washington Wizards would make most people upset. Especially if a player was as important to the Dallas Mavericks as Josh Howard appeared to be. Ever since their breakthrough during the 2005-2006 season, Howard had become an All-Star and one of the go-to guys for the Mavs. But, Howard feels that everything happens for a reason and he wants to make it work in D.C.

With all of the controversy surrounding Gilbert Arenas and the gun incident, the Wizards are trying to rebuild. It appeared as if they were focusing their attention on Howard for this rebuilding process. He came to the team and played in a few games before being suspended for the season after receiving a DUI. Some saw that as Howard resisting playing for the Wizards. However, he wants to assure the fans that was just a slip-up.
