With the Denver Nuggets battling with Dallas for the second seed out West, they turned to their leader, Carmelo Anthony, last night. Having a game against the lowly Knicks meant that there was a good chance of the Nuggets winning. Right now, with their virtual tie with the Mavericks, it is important that they win games like this one.

But, for the Knicks, they have been losing for most of the season. Early on, they were competing for a playoff spot, but after the Magic, Celtics, and Cavaliers rose to the top and the other teams leveled out, the Knicks returned to the bottom of the standings. Already eliminated from playoff contention, the Knicks get a kick out of ruining things for everyone else.

Because it was a game against the Knicks, the Nuggets played loose throughout the game. In the first half, they led by four, before a sluggish third quarter. After falling behind by as many as thirteen, the Nuggets looked towards Carmelo Anthony in the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, Anthony led a rally that fell short. Down by ten to start the quarter, the Nuggets managed to close in to as many as three. But, in the end, they would lose to the Knicks by a score of 109-104.
